All poultry must be pre boxed where possible to avoid stress on the birds as well as accidental loss occurring when trying to transfer to a carry cage. This is fairly easy, just use a strong cardboard box (a banana box or similar), please put plenty of ventilation holes in the box, food and water containers must be easily accessible for us. We recommend getting a 2 litre milk bottle, cutting a hole in the side so poultry can get to the water, stand up in the corner of box with the top accessible from the top of the box. Don't forget to wire those containers in.
The box must have waterproof lining such as an old feed sack or plastic.
(See Pictures Below as an example.... we sell these at $5 if you prefer)
We have found in our experience it is best to separate chickens while in their box. This can be easily done in a banana box by using pieces of cardboard slotted between them.
Overloading the boxes will not be tolerated, the maximum amounts per box are there to keep your poultry alive, overcrowding can cause suffocation and injuries due to fighting.
